Mentoring Circles Programme with HSBC and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

Mentoring Circles Programme with HSBC and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

Today was the last session of our Mentoring Circles Programme with HSBC and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

It has been phenomenal! I closed the programme with a talk called:

‘Staying Disciplined in the Off Season’.

And I’m not going to lie, I went in!!

It’s not every day you are going to wake up and feel like doing it [doing that thing you need to do], but if you can stay disciplined, even when it gets hard, in those times [seasons] you will see the rewards of your sacrifice.

Just like nature, in life we have seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn – but keep doing the thing you need to do.

Plant. Sow. Reap.

No season lasts forever. Do what you need to do, today!

I closed with 3 points:

– Have a vision and long term plan

– Do the right thing even when you don’t feel like doing it

– Have faith & take ACTION!

Thank you for providing mentoring support to our customers.

We feel that your objectives which were to provide skills knowledge, practical steps that can be taken forwards to make an impact was achieved. Customers as well as staff benefited from the motivational talk provided.

Some of the comments we had are “really enjoyed…learnt a lot” and “Changed my approach to life”.

The customers became more receptive with each session and feel they all received some positive points that they can take away. Job opportunities and visualise a HSBC department, what it may feel like to work here which was different to the last time.

We feel your session hit the right spot, helped them to think about being self-aware and what actions they can take to become better people in general. Further more it provided an emotive tool kit to overcome resilience and challenges. I know many were impacted by your transparency in sharing your story including staff.

We will keep you informed of the progress of customers who move into employment.
Once again thank you for your support and it really was beneficial to all customers and staff. Thanks and regards

Zafar, Amita and Jeb – Employee Advisors, Department for Work and Pensions, Central England Group, Work Services Dictorate.

Thank you for providing mentoring support to DWP via HSBC in February & March 2020.

The dynamic style and elements of truth were unique to any previous session and we feel that what you delivered was from the heart and created a long lasting impact to the young people and staff.

The main objectives were achieved, challenging daily routines, thoughts and how they can change positively. The methods are all proven methods and not just theory as you have applied this in your own life.

You had the ability to create an atmosphere that allowed them to interact and participate which was great and therefore they gained further value.

The vulnerability and your life story made it not just a session but a pivotal point to catalyse change and to chase ‘Purpose not Profits’.

Wishing you all the best and your company 1st Class Legacy will go from strength to strength.

Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to support this cause and feed into others.

Kind regards

Sheena Lynch, Premier Service Manager HSBC Employer Advisors, Department for Work and Pensions, Central England Group, Work Services Directorate. Steve Jobs
